Mother and Daughter in DCA Top 20 - Breed 2010

Daisy #1 - Breed

We are happy to announce that Daisy (Gr. Ch. Blackthorn's Flower Power) is #1 Dalmatian in Breed Points in the USA and her daughter Miley - Sweetspots Hot2Spot Best of Both Worlds is #20.  This is very exciting for both of them to be in the Top 20 competition at the Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty this year.  Congratulations to Daisy's owners Bertha Little and Joan Eversole as well as Miley's owner Laurie Isaacson.

Merry Christmas

2010 - A great year at Sweetspot Dalmatians!

We saw the puppies from the Daisy X Marlin litter grow up and finish championships, Grand Championships and performance titles. We watched all the puppies grow up: Miley in California, and Atlas in Sweden, Cooper in Saskatchewan, Ben in New Brunswick, and Diesel in Nova Scotia. Liza and I enjoyed learning about Agility and trying our hand at Super Dogs. The highlight would have to be the Best Senior in Futurity at the DCA National Specialty, with Liza and getting the Reserve Best in Show last spring. Another highlight was to find out that Daisy (Gr. Ch. Blackthorns Flower Power) our puppies mother will end up being the #1 Dalmatian (Breed) in the USA. Her daughter Miley is may also make it to being in the top 20 Dalmatians in the US as well.

In Newfoundland, we are resting now this winter. The weather has been very mild and wet and we are able to do some horse socialization with Liza and with a horse named Andy. He helped train Liquorice and Regis for Road Trials, and took Liza's antics and play bows all in stride when we went to meet him for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

We wish you all the best at the Christmas Season and 2011.

Elizabeth Zedel.

Miley wins DCNC Specialty

Today I got a phone call from Laurie Isaacson. She sounded very calm, and I was not paying attention. At the end of her description of her day at the Dalmatian Club of Northern California Specialty. At the end of the call Laurie said, "And then we won the Specialty". I was so shocked I did not realize what she was saying. We are very excited for Miley and Laurie.

Miley is now

Super Dogs - Liza and Liquorice

Liza and Liquorice were a jumping team today at Super Dogs in St. John's. Here a few photos of Liza. We were involved in the "Pat and Chat" and you can see that it was quite a press of people. Liza and Liquorice both handled it like a pros. To learn more about Super Dogs go to www.superdogs.com

Regis is now a Grand Champion

BIS GCh. Beachcombers Final Answer CD, RD, RN, TC.

Today I received notification that Regis who is 10 years old has received his Grand Champion Title. In Canada in order to become a Grand Champion you must have a BIS and receive 100 points beyond your Championship. They are either from the breed or group level. Regis had all of these from the Group level. You also must have a Best in Show and a performance title. Regis has both a Companion Dog title and a Rally Novice title.
