Merry Christmas

2010 - A great year at Sweetspot Dalmatians!

We saw the puppies from the Daisy X Marlin litter grow up and finish championships, Grand Championships and performance titles. We watched all the puppies grow up: Miley in California, and Atlas in Sweden, Cooper in Saskatchewan, Ben in New Brunswick, and Diesel in Nova Scotia. Liza and I enjoyed learning about Agility and trying our hand at Super Dogs. The highlight would have to be the Best Senior in Futurity at the DCA National Specialty, with Liza and getting the Reserve Best in Show last spring. Another highlight was to find out that Daisy (Gr. Ch. Blackthorns Flower Power) our puppies mother will end up being the #1 Dalmatian (Breed) in the USA. Her daughter Miley is may also make it to being in the top 20 Dalmatians in the US as well.

In Newfoundland, we are resting now this winter. The weather has been very mild and wet and we are able to do some horse socialization with Liza and with a horse named Andy. He helped train Liquorice and Regis for Road Trials, and took Liza's antics and play bows all in stride when we went to meet him for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

We wish you all the best at the Christmas Season and 2011.

Elizabeth Zedel.

Miley wins DCNC Specialty

Today I got a phone call from Laurie Isaacson. She sounded very calm, and I was not paying attention. At the end of her description of her day at the Dalmatian Club of Northern California Specialty. At the end of the call Laurie said, "And then we won the Specialty". I was so shocked I did not realize what she was saying. We are very excited for Miley and Laurie.

Regis is now a Grand Champion

BIS GCh. Beachcombers Final Answer CD, RD, RN, TC.

Today I received notification that Regis who is 10 years old has received his Grand Champion Title. In Canada in order to become a Grand Champion you must have a BIS and receive 100 points beyond your Championship. They are either from the breed or group level. Regis had all of these from the Group level. You also must have a Best in Show and a performance title. Regis has both a Companion Dog title and a Rally Novice title.

Liza learns to swim

We went on a family camping trip this weekend, and Liza learned to swim. I must admit that her friend Regis helped her along. First she got her confidence on a flexi-leash in the shallow end with my husband and then Regis helped her along in the pond by swimming her in circles. This picture is taken at Hawk Hills, NL.

DCA and Heartland Specialties

I was going to wait until we had photos, but I can't wait any longer.

I am home from the Dalmatian Club of America (DCA) US National.

Liza won Best Senior in Futurity.

This was such a thrill, Liza performed like a pro and moved beautifully.

In the classes Liza got a 3rd place in her class and a 2rd place finish in the Heartland Dalmatian Club Specialty Sweeps. We could not stay for the Heartland Specialty.

On the night of the banquet we also won a cover spot for the DCA magazine. So Fall 2011 Spotter will feature Sweetspot Dalmatians.

The morning I back from the Specialty, Laurie Isaacson gave me a quick rather excited call to say that Mily had won Winners Bitch at the Heartland. A couple hours later she called again to say she had won Best of Winners.

How exciting to see that these two sisters could do so well in the same week.

During the week we had photos taken of the two sisters. They were such good dogs. They sat and posed for the camera for at least 20 minutes with out leashes or collars, while other dogs walked by.

We are very proud of these two sisters.
