Liza is home in Newfoundland

We are very excited to have Liza back home with us.  She gave me a full body hug when she came out of the kennel at the airport.  I am sure that there will be photos in the next few days.  Thanks again to Linda McCartney-Roy for not only finishing her American Championship but put also getting Liza well on the way to her Grand Championship.

American Championship for Liza

Liza finished her American Championship in style today.  She got Best of Opposite Sex from the classes at the Central New York Kennel Club  show under judge Charlotte Patterson for a 4 point major win.  I would like to thank Linda McCartney Roy for showing her beautifully and finishing her championship in less than 2 months!  I have heard that Liza just loves Linda and together they make a great team.   Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, and Linda sent me this photo to show she had finished today.  We are so proud of our little "Sweetspot"!

First Agility Trial

Liza entered her first Agility trial this weekend with the Newfoundland Athletic Dog Association.  It was great fun, I just wish I could keep up to her.  We did not qualify but placed in 3 out of 4 classes.

A Day at the Beach

Yesterday we all enjoyed a day at the beach with 2 kids and 3 Dals.  It was a lovely afternoon with warm sunny weather.  Here is Liza enjoying the water with Len.

Like a Dal in MUD

Today we all went climbing in Holyrood about 20 min from St. John's.  The weather was as good as it gets on "the rock".  Liquorice said that she had missed her visit to the spa in recent months and insisted that she take a mud pack facial.  At age 12 years old Liquorice still has tons of stamina, and fully enjoyed the outing!

Puppies - Regis X Liza

We are planning a litter between Regis and Liza and Liza has come into season very early.  If you are interested in a puppy from this exciting breeding, please email me to get on my waitlist.

Here is a lovely photo that Stefanie Smith (www.pawpic.ca) took of the two of them last summer.  Laurie Isaacson calls this their engagement photo!

Royal Wedding

This should have been posted a while ago.  The girls and I got up for the Royal Wedding of William and Kate.  After we watched the celebrations we had tea, cookies with royal icing and muffins on the back deck in the sunshine.  It was still cool, but nice to see the sunshine.  As you can see the leaves were still not on the trees.  Of course, Liza celebrated with us!

Liza and Regis in the sun

My daughter Alida dressed up Liza while she sat in the sunshine.

Liza loves the attention from the kids, and will sit quietly while being dressed up.

We are planning a litter in the summer of 2012 between Regis and Liza.  I think Regis is already smitten.

Igloo

This last few weeks we have had lots of snow.  My husband has been perfecting the art of Igloo making and today he made the second in our back yard.  The first got hit by rain and got too small.  Tonight my husband and the kids are sleeping in the igloo for a winter camping adventure. Liza snuggled down in between the sleeping bags.

Liza still trying to get carrot off of snowman
Today we had a dump of wet snow.  It was the kind that makes a great snowman.  Len, Alida, Fern and Liza went out to make a snowman in the back yard.  Liza was very interested in seeing if she could get the carrot off of the snowman.  Liza also likes to jump for snowballs and she has an amazing spring in her legs.
